It's anthing but a fucking anti-climax, this is more than I could've expected, I was hoping for Cureton, Thorpe is an added bonus.

Is a bit worrying. Now it's public makes it more likely other clubs will enquire about the player between now and tomorrow.
Surely they're ours?! Please!

At least some good news. I wonder if either Fallon or Roberts are off? King had said if Parkin stayed he would be happy with 3 pros'.

Maybe cos this Burgess deal is dead he may try the Fallon Swap???

ok i can dream but that would be quality.

The best news is Jamie Cureton doesn't fit the "da da da da Andy Caton" song that was used for prett much everyone last year.

It's annoying all this 'if they turn up, as promised'. What's gonna happen, they just won't turn up while everyone's waiting there in party hats sipping bucks fizz! Wish it could just be certain!

Fingers are well and truely crossed for the next 24hrs.  Which Mrs Jan might find kinda strange later...

So the number 9 shirt is up for grabs, with two strikers wanting it, who's it going to go to?  Mind you new shirt, so the numbers will probably be completely changed due to all the comings and goings.

Nice report by Sky

Double boost for Swindon
by Alex Dunn -  created on 30 Jun 2005

Swindon Town are expected to be handed a massive pre-season boost with the signing of experienced strike duo Jamie Cureton and Tony Thorpe.

Both players have proven pedigrees at this level and would be an impressive coup as Town boss Andy King looks to replace departing favourite Sam Parkin.
