I can't understand why Black, Fitton and Wray after all their good work have just thrown this all away ?

And basically lost millions of pounds in the mean time.

Please advise cos I simply can't understand any of it.

Reports were that Wray has been to the club every home match...Fitton claims to still have an interest in the clubs future..

Are they behind this take over ?

On the plus side, probably staves off administration.

How can they be ? Sounds like the club needed cash urgently so sold. Can't expect prospective new owners to pump money into somehting they don't own.

Fitton and Wray do not have the money, never have.  Arbib bailes us out originally.  Black is the sole funder of the clubs losses, he's had enough, he's not even a football fan let alone of us so has no real emotional need to carry on once he's hit the max he was willing to go to.

The only feasible option is that Ritchie was sold to pay the bills with the takeover taking longer than expected.

Unless they have decided to cash in on any saleable assetts.

In the longer term though by not pre investing if you will, the only people to lose out will be them as the asset they are buying is now much worse off than it was 2 hours ago

Would you pay the owner of a car you liked to get the work done before you purchased it from them?  Like fuck would you, maybe knock something off the asking price, but in this case there was nothing to knock off from.  I think Black probably reckons writing off £10m ish is more than generous.   The guy fronting the deal has had his hands burnt in a deak before with Luton didn't he?  Doubt the money men would be confident in chucking a few hundred thousand quid on something that wasn't theirs.

1) club will probably only confirm the deal officially once the FL has approved the takeover

2) perspective owners want a debt free club

3) AB et all prepared to take a £10mil hit

4) as debt is some £13mil, there's a shortfall...made up by quick player sales

So in your scenario, we've been "bought" by a bunch of chancers with no money of their own to invest who intend to wipe down the remaining £3m after Black wrote off £10m via quick player sales. As they've raised £400k from selling Ritchie, we could expect maybe another £400k for Wes, say £200k for Ferry, that still leaves another £2m to find at fire-sale prices.

Sorry, but I'm not seeing a whole lot in that to make me terribly optimistic.

I was more thinking of the scenario where BEST were announced as the new owners, Jim Little was paraded on the pitch before the Yeovil game in front of SKY as the new chairman, he held meetings with fans' groups, the council etc as the representative of the new owners, they even started redecorating, then it turned out a deal hadn't been done, the money wasn't there and it had all gone to shit.

No, I'm saying that new investors want to start as debt free. Black and co are taking a £10m hit. So Black has a bit of a shortfall...so getting in a quick sale (£400k) will slightly help.

I hope not. And I agree the personnel are very different this time round. And hopefully tomorrow it will all turn out to be a bit of last-minute takeover kerfuffle (albeit with the sorry side-effect of one of our best players going to one of our rivals for buttons), but the way this has unfolded over the last couple of days really does not stack up. At all.

Blacks recent actions seem unprofessional to say the very least and if he is prepared to write of his investment as well as his previous partners just seems so strange.

Just have a feeling that perhaps Wray and Fitton still have a future with STFC.

Feeling very deflated currently is an understatement.

Trouble is I have been here too many times before with the Town and unfortunately all we fans have got in the past is snippets of supposed "information", half-truths and downright lies and very, very rarely do we get told the truth until it is bad news and the sh*t hits the proverbial fan. The current board I thought had risen above all that and am disappointed in the way it is being handled at the moment as it all seems a bit rushed, but Mr Black and his money has got us to where we are at present and thanks has got to be given for that. I can only hope that whoever eventually takes the club over can continue on the same lines.

We are having a tremendous season on the pitch so far and also very disappointed that Matt Richie is going for what appears to be a not very good fee to basically a smaller club than us but currently a rival for promotion. It certainly does not make sense to me and I hope that PdC was party to it and it did not happen without his knowledge!
