Title: Port Vale
Post by: RobertT on Thursday, September 29, 2005, 09:14:34
I am sure many of you read the Thisis site, in fact I know many of you do, so you may have seen my decent into happy dilerium yesterday.  It seems I've only gone and got all positive about life.

Well, there was a post by louavo suggesting we put some effort in for the Port Vale game and I got carried away.  Yesterday I placed a suggestion before the Trust and Supporters Club about really pushing for some sort of event and theme for the Port Vale game, a sort of new start with Iffy in charge.  A way for us supporters to do something positive for the club as we can't just keep harping on about what could and couldn't be done to solve things.

I'm meeting to discuss the ideas tonight and hopefully we can get the Adver on board as well as the club.

What I can say is that the overiding theme will be the colour Red and creating a bit noise and fun for the day.  So, with what little you know so far, try your darndest to drag extra people along and make them wear Red and make them shout and sing.

I'm guessing that the everyday fan will in fact have plenty of their own ideas on how to spice the place up, so take that Red theme and do with it what you may - Wigs, Dressing up as Father Christmas, All Body Painting ala Tango Man (but you'll have to be Red Man).

Get the ball rolling lads, see how far we can take it.  Wouldn't it be great if we could just all put an effort in at exactly the same game.  I'll work with the Supporters group ect to try and get this organised as well and in the media.

Come along to MK as well, and we can have two parties!

Keep us informed RT, England are playing after us too, so if it all kicks off it could be a great day - I'm going to have a spare ticket again for this one too as my dad will be on holiday.

Give it to the person who comes up with the most imaginitive, yet legal, way of using Red for the match!  Start a thread offering it.

Remember to cover them in Red, from head to toe, tell them it's always like that, part of the entrance requirements.

Well, Devlin back as well now.  All the more reason to have a big party I feel at the Vale game (as well as MK).

I found a website earlier that sold Red Masks, much like the Phantom ones at about £1.50, bargain.  Wasn't sure of the advertising rules on here, so haven't linked it because I'm sure there are others.

Red Wigs, Affro/Scouse style also started at £1.50

He could just buy this:

1500 balloons purchased so far.  Someone has their eye on a batch of 100 santa hats, two people offered me money towards balloons, Kinky may be holding that comp for a ticket, someone else trawling e-bay as we speak.

Club are going to be doing the kids under 7 free as you like, and I am negotiating on them allowing events arouond the ground.  I have a meeting with Mike Sullivan on Monday.

Ed Hadwin has replied to my e-mails, just trying to get hold of him by phone.

Waiting for John Ritson to call me back with an update from the Adver.

Supporters club will be bugging Sandy Gray.

Steel band (calypso style I guess) lined up, he says.

Anymore for anymore.

Suprised the club don't push this a little more, sounds like a good day out (you are not even relying on the 90 minutes on the pitch so much!)

Based in the Platinum Lounge or Matchday Sponsors Lounge you can enjoy the following:

Bucks Fizz reception A full English Breakfast or Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs
Tea and coffee
Executive Seats for the game
Complementary Matchday Magazine
Half-time and Full-time refreshments
Meet the Man of the Match
Seat in the Lounge to watch England v Austria on the Television

The cost of this special World Cup Brunch is £35 plus vat. Season Ticket holders may use their own match seats, if they wish, but due to the logistical reasons, we will not be able to provide any half-time refreshments to our season ticket holders.

The cost to a season ticket holder will be just £20 plus vat.
