Question - Bob Holt said you have pledged your future to Town(refering to holts radio interview that will be online later)

Wise - Well he shouldnt have said that,Im not happy hes out of order and shouldnt be saying things like that.....Im here to win Saturdays game and not to be put under pressure like that especially by people from the club.

Dennis sounded very pissed off that Holt had spouted off about stuff publicly tonight that was discussed (and you would have presumed stayed) in private.

And rightly so. Doesn't bode well does it.

I think Devlin needs to be back on the seen as quick as possible, before Holt causes more problems.

Do you think the club should employ a PR man. I'm used to talking to town fans and can spout shit all day. Maybe I could apply.

Are you writing the scripts for this season FB?  Its certainly turning into one of the more bizarre even by STFC standards.

Nah, there would have been more star wars references.

Could be that Bill Power thought Dennis Wise was his son, and quit when he discovered he was Bob Holt's son.  Is it just me who thinks Bob Holt looks like Chewbacca after a sessionn with a Gillette Turbo Mach 3?

I think the kindest thing anyone can say about Bob Holt is that he is a silly old fucker.

Which isn't saying a lot really.

Oh well, off to Amsterdam in a couple of days. What the fuck do I care?

Anyone notice the likeness between Salacious Crumb and Sandy Gray?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! First Bill Power, then Mark D (as soon as he's fit enough to be sacked), now they seem intent on driving out Dennis. What next? "Well you see Shaun we were just carrying this big barrel of petrol in the Nationwide Stand when we thought we might stop for a smoke. And, erm, that's why we don't have a South Stand anymore. But a fire? Oh, no, there wasn't a fire. Heaven forfend. And if anyone on the internet says there was a fire, we'll close the club down and go off in a sulk"

It's people like this that the phrase "You couldn't make it up" was invented for

well i wouldn't get doom mongering just yet. let's not jump to conclusions about this DW interview. i think what Wise was getting at was that BH is a bit of a twat to put it politly. i think Wise is just annoyed that the board are interfeering with his role which is exactly what he was told wouldn't happen when he first came. when he said "it puts me under more pressure" i think he meant that in the sense that he just wan't to get on with the job. when Ed asked BH if he was to ask the question to DW after the game would he say he would stay for definate Holt said "hopefully" it seems to me like BH was getting a bit carried away about whatever Wise had told the board and Holt typically didn't know what he was talking about

Holt wasn't aware of Wise's public comments about Linda either, so they don't seem to get on well do they.

nope but im sure it won't lead to Wise leaving directly. just because he doesn;t get on with BH doesn't mean to say he can't manage us does it? also hopefully Mark D will be back soon.

You're right Rich - BH dropping another clanger won't be the factor that pushes Dennis one way or another. But it certainly won't help, and I'd like to think that the board at the moment would be doing everything they can to sway his decision (if there is one to be made) in favour of staying, instead of potentially jeapordising that by trying to take the pressure of themselves and in so doing putting it on Dennis.

i personally think Wise had told the board to stop interfeering in his job and get on with their job and he will quite happily stay if this is the case and BH has just put it the wrong way in the interview by saying Wise is going to stay

If Dad's Army ever gets remade I put Mr Bob Holt down as the fella who shouts out (in every episode) "DON'T PANIC MR MANNERING, DON'T PANIC..."

Stupid old fucker is a good description, poor bloke seems to put his foot in it everytime he opens his mouth, "Unlucky Alf" was based on his life I do believe.

I dont think wise will leave just because of that, but it could be one of many things happened if he does go.

To me it sounds like hes committed himself in private to the board but is now pissed off that they've made it public. If he was committed though why would he be angry at it being made public. i can understand privacy and all that but surely he wants the fans to know whats going on?

as ive said before i think he's just pissed off with the Board interfeering in his job and he doesn't want that. maybe he did tell them he wanted to stay but didn't want them to say anything because the rumours would keep coming. well done BH for another brillaint interview

maybe he thinks it would have looked good to his squad if the had seen in the news that rumours were linking him with a move to a bigger better club and then he came out in his own good time stating that he would not leave as he was focus with his players and wanted to achieve something with them....for morale as a town player that would be a nice boost to morale when its needed......at the minute the way it came out though Bob seems to have perhaps let this out in the wrong way? (maybe) Hence in theory taken the boil off the morale booster and he reacted badly to it all as he was pretty p1ssed at the end of the game last night.

Thats what I make of it anyway but I could be wrong.....

I guess it is quite undermiming. You want to have authority and to be in complete control of the team stuff and then you have some old bloke on the board making a stupid statement. Perhaps Wise had planned to let the team know later on that night or maybe he hasnt committed himself yet and BH is trying to put pressure on him to do so....  I Just hope all this bollocks can be cleared up pretty soon.

I understand Wise's annoyance but to an extent, I think it's just Holt being a bit naive and telling us what he thinks he wants to here.

Regrettably it's given Wise an adequate excuse to walk away.

Well, Holt quit in the hope the gesture would be enough to keep Wise at the club ...

I think the resignation - and very prompt one - has taken that excuse away.
