The happy clappers coming out of the woodwork on BBC Radio Swindon last night were laughable. The way they were going on you would have thought we had beat top of the league 5-0, not drawn at home to Tranmere.
If Austin is not replaced, I think we will go down. In 08/09 we had the goals of Simon Cox to save us, along with a decent input from Paynter. This year we look like going into the second half of the season with a Dossevi-Pericard partnership. Dossevi tried last night but was out of his depth. I really don't know where the goals are going to come from.
Worrying that Wilson thinks it will only be 'someone' coming in instead of 2/3 players that are needed. His lack of activity in the transfer market is going to cost us.
I don't think a new man will see much improvement at this stage in the season, the current squad isn't up to it, but I think Wilson has to go at the end of the season. 3 targets, none met = gone.

I thought the most positive thing about last night was that it was actually a decent game. First time Ive seen some entertainment at a ground for weeks. Although the crowd was quiet, the fans did stay with the team, which is also positive.
Amankwaah does a lot more running off the ball than Caddis. Caddis is good on the ball, and he's a skillful player, but he's far too happy to stand about on the half way line when we are attacking. You need the full backs rampaging up the field to get real pressure on.
I cant believe Lescinel backheeled the ball towards his own 18 yard box. That is defender suicide, and he was lucky to get away with it. Lescinel is a very skilful player, and 90% of the stuff he does is very good. But he's always likely to do something crazy. We cant afford the risks he takes at the moment, we are very fragile.
Dossevi works extremely hard. But he needs more shooting practice. Can you imagine him on his own up front? We must sign 2 strikers this transfer window.
O'Brien did alright. But he's not a footballer and he doesnt have a clue what he's doing.

It's a novelty for me, apart from the live thread, I don't have to suffer it every week. Nah I'd do it more often if I could, keeps my granddad alive for me. Sentimental I know, sweet shop on the Shrivenham Road and all that

Well done Reg. Glad to see you're not going down the Keys/Gray route. I'd hate to see you thrown off the forum

Sensible realists....very few managers, are always successful, look at the examples. Just a couple off the top of the head...Ancelotti, double last season, flying start this, then it all goes pear shaped. Why?
Look at the fella down the road....they've twice had completely shit spells when their mongs have called for his head, but he's been allowed to manage, and they're in their highest spot for years.
Quite simply Wilson because of his previous work has earned the opportunity to sort this window, he's lost a centre half but brought in Flint, he will lose Austin but deserves the chance to bring in a couple of players with some of the funds. If at the end of the season, which is relatively close, we see no progress or get relegated he should not be given a new contract. Then a new man or woman can be brought in.
i dont think fitton can risk us getting relegated.if results dont improve the league position will force his hand. i hope wilson can sort us out. i dont want to see him sacked.

Just as long as she knows the offside rule.
