Is it just me or does that email have a ring of the Nigerian 419 scam emails about it? Don't give him your bank details Gaz even if he does have a significant transfer budget he'd like to rest in your account

I read on SkySports the other day that Downing was "hopeful" (which normally means he's already gone) in one of those generic local paper interviews. - Link below - http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_3581016,00.htmlI've only seen him play briefly as a late sub at Ashton Gate on Darius Henderson's debut - he was rubbish but as already mentioned he was a kid back then. I know he's scored a couple of blinders. Not a huge name - our very own pessimists will have their say I'm sure - but has shown he has can do something at this level. Could be worse - could be bollocks though!

Oh, that's OK then - so long as there's something solid behind it, you're home and dry

He is a good, classy player. A footballer. It wouldn't really fit in with MM's pledge of signing "bigger" players though as I can't imagine he is much taller than 5ft 8?

would be an absolutely superb signing... he's got something about him, he's their talisman and scored all their goals.
therefore this is complete bollocks.

More likely to be Sturrock going. More opportunity for first team football and he'll do a job for them in league 2 (Season 2009-2010)

I always thought Gillespie was a) Good, and b) a right winger.
Nethertheless, he scored a fair few goals last year in anappalling team. We could do worse.
I still think Paynter and Cox are good enough to fire us to the playoffs, however.
