Title: OK then cleverer people Post by: BANGKOK RED on Friday, May 6, 2011, 16:10:30 My com has flashed up with the blue screen of death twice in as many days. It then just shuts down and re-starts again without a problem. I know this can't be good. So......

Place your xp cd in the rom drive and boot up. You should see this message :- PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD. Press enter and windows will load. Press R that will take you into the recovery console. Then you will be asked which installation of windows you want to load, press 1 then enter. You will now be asked for your administrator password, type this in and press enter. (If you do not have a password just press enter) At the C:\ prompt type FIXBOOT and press enter. When the new boot record is written type exit. Now I just hold down the power button every day to turn it off. If it was my own computer I might be concerned. Several people at work have the same problem, I put it down to a crap Windows update.
