The Memorial Flight Hurricane doing a turn about 150' above our house, an hour or so ago. Stunning.

Just had one flown over mine too. Saw the red arrows earlier doing their thing at Goodwood FoS from a great vantage point.

Off to a party tonight that the Wurzels are playing at Grin

Could post this on either thread..

Had a prang in my car earlier this year. It was all sorted by the insurers, but when I got the car back it occasionally made a noise like there was something loose under the bonnet, pinging around. It really worried me, but not enough to get it checked out as it happened so infrequently and afterwards the car ran perfect. When it had it's full service I mentioned this issue to the mechanic; he checked it out but couldn't find the problem. For a while the car made no strange sounds and I thought whatever it was had worked itself through the engine.... Then it happened again. This time I had a kind of a premonition, like I knew it was going to start. Once the clanging, pinging noise stopped, I tried to work out why I had had this weird feeling. Then it struck me! I had solved the riddle! It was fucking ELO, playing Ma Belle on my iPod! I tested my theory and, sure enough, towards the end of the track there was that sound.
3 months worrying that my car was on the verge of breaking apart and it was all the fault of Bev Fucking Bevan....

My Grandpa learned to fly Hurricanes at Woodley Aerodrome (now developed as housing) in 1938/39, which cannot be very far from you at all.  A home-coming!

Yes, about a mile away. If you're in the area you might visit the Museum of Berkshire Aviation - they have loads of memorabilia from the airfield and aircraft factory.

He did, yes - in both.  Nice synopsis of his war record here.

And thanks, Reading Red.  We're just up the road in Farnborough.  I should have a look round.

Managed to get myself a dream graduate job, with a 2:2, a criminal record and 1 week of employment history. Managed to beat over 200 applicants, there were 4 places. It's a job in sales and I have no sales experience or business background, so I really don't know how I've managed this, the salary is also incredible. I'm off to the pub.   Cheesy

This wasn't offered to you by a Nigerian prince in exchange for handing over your bank details was it?

Presuming the answer is no, congratulations.
