Had one of my customers text me tonight. Her pc is blue screening. I updated her AVG last week to the 2011 version, since then she has had problems. I Googled the problem and came up with this http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=333620So Beware!

The Mrs put the free version on her new/reconditioned laptop last month. Can hardly boot the fucking thing up now.

Boot into safe mode. Keep hitting F8 when you hit the on button. Go to Control Panel-Add Remove programmes XP. Control Panel-Programmes and Features-Vista-Win 7 and remove it Then you have a choice download Avira, Avast, or as Arriba said

You dont get nothing for free....can honestly say that the thirty quid was well spent. I dont download anything now....free or otherwise.

Cheers. We originally tried to download Avast but the option for the free version was greyed out?!
Thought maybe as it was a recon (still a half decent HP laptop - Si Pie checked the spec), it may have had an old AntiVirus still lurking on there.
