We had our Xmas lunch yesterday in Old Town and are out tomorrow night for food then onto wherever.  Completely unplanned!

My mum got her boss in a secret santa a few years back.  It was a cheapy mug that said "I've come about the job"  for a laugh, or so she thought.....until the others noticed it actually said "Ive come about the blow job".

Unfortunately, that Santa didn't stay secret!

I took everyone to conneys in lechlade last year - blloming expensive! This year I took them to Marios in Old Town nothing special but the girl is getting her hair coloured, cut and all that on Friday.  Easier than a drinking session plus accountants etc dont really like nights out

Saffron is my bosses golden retriver - my bosses are gay and are married and Saffron comes to work so she doesnt have to sit at home on her own all day (she is old!)

When we do our secret santa we have to pick a theme as well as a person to make is easier - i originally had fatty ming new girl to buy for and she had saffron but fatty ming new girl got the sack and I got to buy something for the dog instead!

she cant really wear things as she is too big for all those cute doggy Tshirts etc so I brought her a "best in show" gift set from Tesco!

I went to Suju's opening night. I was the only person there. Was about a year ago, they opened earlier than they were planning to get some pre-xmas cash in I think.

It's not really new anyway as it's pretty much the same as Soda.

Everytime i have been in there it's been 1 or 2 other people. Even when my band played there as well.

Has your band played at the Old Nick in Bassett? We had a band Xmas pint in there last Friday and fucking hell - a chav war-zone!!!

I remember soda being shite thats about it.

   When it was Vadim's (late 70's early 80's)  it was decent, you had to be a member and there weren't many late drinking venues in Swindon.   Decor and stuff was a bit naff, and it was small, but you got a good crowd up for it.  Someone always seemed to know of a party to go to somewhere within a 20 mile radius of Swindon.

As much as I love you Reg, I have to say I was a twinkle in my fathers eye (late 70's early 80's)  :D

   Whatever its called though, its essentially the same place, which has managed to be a source of pleasure to several generations,  despite the changing of social trends.  I like that sort of continuity.

  When it changed from Vadim's,  someone from the old punters tried to burn it down, as the new owners wanted  to make it a bit trendier and banned all the old regulars.

I don't finish work till 8 on Friday, but there's sod all work around at the moment so I might get out earlier.
