Where are you getting that from?
Hmm, 1K I could believe but ... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3456453/Mind-gap-Premier-League-wages-soar-average-salaries-2014-15-season-1-7million-rest-creep-along.html

On the price of football calculator on the BBC website I chose STFC & the s/t holder option. The result was that I 'could' spend £911 watching Town this season. It then said underneath that it would take 2 fans spending like 'me' to cover the average wage of a L2 footballer. So I assumed from that that the average wage was £911 x 2. Or am I missing something?

Or even worse Rob Hartley, on his 12 millionth(ish) consecutive Swindon match.

Not doubting your calculations but I'll call wild guessing on the BBC's attempt to illustrate the spend in terms of players' wages.

Totally agree with you. Seems way too high for my liking.

For me travel to the games is more expensive than the tickets.
On the other hand I don’t understand why they include food & drink prices

I've always had an unpopular opinion about this. Eat before you go to the game.

Couldn't agree more. I make sure I have a decent feed before going to football as the food is invariably terrible and the queues ludicrous.

Just another example of how our society has become split, in this case those who can go to football without eating a pie and those that can't. Presumably when the UK departs the ECJ and ECHR, an Englishman's inalienable right to a pie will be enshrined in law...

Think this may show the BBC figures to be overinflated It would be interesting to compare earnings in general during this period inc FTSE 100 chief execs and Premiership players vis a vis footballers/employees at large. There could be a link in disproportionate remuneration growth at the very top....
