Nobody warned him about the rumours of player unrest and bid to get rid of the manager then, s

Why would they? Does anybody at the club even know him?

Not so. This season you could have 7 loans on the bench if you wanted. Only allowed 5 on the pitch at any one time, though.

Has that changed this season/recently?

Apparently so, I can't find it on the EFL website though but hopefully someone who has seen it will link it.

As Aud says the rules seem to be changing all the time, but that definately wasn't the case earlier in the season when Wellens spoke about being limited to 5 loans in the matchday squad well before he left back in September time after the close of the last transfer window.

I can only see the following

Quote
54.4.1  A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This maximum shall reduce to 4 Players where a Club names a Player on the team sheet who is registered on an Emergency Goalkeeper Loan;

Which would suggest its out of date, yet there are mentions of 20/21 and 21/22 season in the rules.

Subs at that stage were only 5 I think, now 7 so perhaps with this change they have made many more. I know Alan Nixon was asked about it & said that only 5 can be on the pitch however the match day squad more can be involved.

The other thing I noticed as well is that from next season squad numbers will be reduced from 23 to 20.

Yes they said they would phase that in, only applies to players over the age of 21 though.

Currently we have 21 players I believe that are classed as over 21s.

Anyone know anything about Masterson? We could do with a CB who can actually defend and is good in the air rather than a ball playing CB. Obviously if he can do both that would be great.

This all seems to be hearsay and there does not appear to be any proof anywhere in writing, same as the Twine 3 club situation, surely the FL rules on their website have got to be correct otherwise what is the point of publishing out of date rules ?

I think Caddy wants out. His post-match said a lot about how he is feeling right now. Maybe El Shezza has broken him. He knows he's not the player he was but a positive Caddy is always useful. I think he'll see this season out but be gone.

As for starting line up...if all fit and not assuming any more new additions or flavour of the month selections...

Travers

Freeman      Odimayo      Conroy      Thompson

Masterson             Lyden

M. Smith

Twine                                     Jaiyesimi

Hope

4-3(2-1)-2-1(3)

Subs: Matthews, Caddy, A. Grant, J. Smith, Payne, Palmer, Pitman

Matthews and Twine both cover the homegrown, so bin the ego massager off thank you please.

That BOO fella is hinting at an incoming from Nigeria! Maybe it’s the prince who wants to give me £10m.

Hope it’s a striker. Hope it’s Fred Friday!

Why would we sign a Centre half on loan to play him in Midfield!    Suspect Palmer will start, Odi won't.
Also your bench is clearly wrong as Curran will be on it

Odimayo and Masterson are utilisable and could be switched. Think you may need to listen to Masterson's signing interview and see why he could play both CB or CDM.

Well, we know that but my selection was based on "fully fit and no flavours of the month" being included. Curran needs binning off or at least sent somewhere, how about Waterford?  Hmmm
