The clubs wages & salaries for the last 6 seasons are as follows;
2003-4 £2.7m 2004-5 £2.5m 2005-6 £2.3m (51 playing staff, 208 other) 2006-7 £3.3m (59 playing staff, 223 other) * League Two Season * 2007-8 £3.8m (68 playing staff, 227 other) 2008-9 £3.9m (85 playing staff, 282 other)
Can anyone explain the salary jumps from £2.3m to £3.3m to £3.8m? Or the increase from 51 to 85 playing staff?

I'm not sure how they break down the playing staff but the first thing we did under Malpas was signed about 8 or 9 youth teamers on pro contracts.
Plus, loan players - I assume they count? per loan, per player? Is someone who comes in for a month added to the number even if they dont play and then leave?

The increase from £2.3m to £3.3m was due to Bill Powers 'investment', and employing Wise & Poyet.

Start of 2006/07 we had Dennis Wise, Gus Poyet and Paul Ince on the payroll, who would all have been on big money. That might explain the jump from £2.3m to £3.3m that summer?

Actually if you looked at the figure in 2003 - 2004 @ 2.7m then the 3.3m in 06/07 it doesn't appear to be too much of a jump rather a dip prior & when we were relegated. Also I know its not the whole lot but wasn't the programme done at Dunwoody then Diamandis said he'd bought it "in house". That to my mind probably meant he bought the dunnwoody staff on to the stfc payroll
