Tower Heist. As expected, a bit shit.

Django was really good I thought.

Took the kids to see The Croods in 3D, it was really good for an animated film that the 3D helped. I don't think that it would have been quite as good in 2D.

Wreck It Ralph. Kids film, but really enjoyable and lots of references to old computer games for the over 25's.

Yesterday I finally got round to Argo, which I thought was enjoyable but not worthy of the extreme high praise it received.

Exactly my thoughts

I was expecting a classic given the hype and the Oscar business but it just turned out to a reasonable watch, therefore it failed to met expectations.

Been thinking about giving the film Koyaanisqatsi a go but unsure if it will be a rewarding investment of time or a mind-numbing waste of it. Any TEF'ers ever seen it?

Apparently it's from the hopi (?) language and translates as 'life out of balance.' Interested in the basic thematic idea but can't decide from the trailer whether it's going to be a deep and meaningful exploration of that idea or a load of art school bollocks that will leave me feeling more annoyed than when I started. The monks chanting 'Koyaanisqatsi' aren't helping.

If I ever had any interest in watching it (I didn't because I'd never heard of it), that trailer would have made up my mind not to bother.

Speaking of the Korean war, did anybody else watch Taegukgi?  I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable, if a little over-sentimental.

Here is a randomly selected clip:

Think I'm also leaning towards giving it a miss.

I watched a decent French film the other day, it was a fairly old called Baise-Moi. If you look past the hardcore sex & violence it has a really good story. The sex just sort of blends into the film rather than being the film in like a porno.

It's not that old (2000) but looked like it was filmed on a 1980s calculator.

Watched Django unchained on iTunes last night... immense film if you get the Blazing Saddles meets A Fist Full of Dollars storyline - the bag scene had me in tears
