Oxford will never be a football town, rowing maybe but not football. Northampton have a bigger football and rugby team than oxford. Oxford is famous for having a university and a good cop programme, but they are similar to Cambridge, only not quite as good
Northampton sporting history is pretty impressive for a place its size....about the same population as Swindon, but has the rugby club, cricket (Steelbacks current 20/20 holders) and the football. That the Cobblers are bigger than the Scum is shown by Saturday when despite being bottom of the FL, had a bigger crowd than the Scum, who are having their best season for years, and have a decent chance of making the PO's for the first time in their history.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25910976It means the 46-year-old, who will be assisted by Alan Knill, will be leaving the sixth-placed U's for a team 23 points further down the table and bottom of the Football League. It is a bit of an odd career move personally.

Amazingly even the Cobblers fans seem underwhelmed by his appointment.

Had a quick look at their forum, one of the threads was about them getting Karl Robinson from Franchise, I didn't read anymore, what world do these people live in?

I'm not sure I would wish that on my worst enemy. On second thoughts, you are right he would be perfect for them
