Title: 1969, were you there?
Post by: juddie on Monday, March 2, 2009, 17:23:22
I need to speak to some fans who went to the game, or watched/listened to it at home fora piece in this Saturday's matchday programme. Please PM me if you'd like to get involved...

I was there....long time ago now though.  Strangely I found myself living in N London roughly 5 years later, and used to pass Wembley often...even then 69 seemed a long time ago.  Whereas living in London seems like a recent event in my life...weird.

if I jot down some questions Reg, would you mind recalling your memories of the day?

What about your old man JFW, would he be up for it? (Not like that, of course, that would be wrong...)

My mum went to most of the cup run, including some epic away games......but missed the final as she was nine months pregnant.

I arrived a couple of days later into a celebrating and partying, black and white world, which explains my permanently joyous nature.

And they didn't call me Don, or Roger!

Yeah he loves being a media whore - he doesnt have a computer though

Could give you his mobile?

You know the thing you did about the Leciester Wembley game in the programme and how my dads friend Dave sold raffle tickets up one side of the coach for 50p and the other side for £1? Dave was SO proud of that!! he has cut it out and kept it tee hee!

That's why Fatters is now like one of the Swindon Town Ladies - it runs in the family, bald heads included! ;)
