Title: Hedge Trimmers Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, September 27, 2014, 08:41:09 I need to replace a hedge trimmer, and can't decide whether to go cordless or not. Corded models have more power, but I'm less likely to cut through the cable (again) on a cordless version.

I've always gone corded and accepted that I will cut through the cable on numerous occasions. However last year I bought a Bosch battery powered strimmer which makes life a lot easier. Also Bosch have this interchangeable battery pack thing going on so a lot of their equipment uses the same power pack. Means you'll have a greater chance of one being charged. Cutting back is pretty much a full time job, so I'm after something fairly heavy duty.

Ardiles - I have corded hedge trimmers and a battery strimmer. The power on the strimmer is fine but it only has to do the edges of the lawns. Based on the amount of hedges you have I'd go corded, I think battery would be OK if you just had one side of the garden to do.
