Was looking forward to this fixture as Leyton is two stops on the tube away from me. Then I realised it'd be over christmas, when I'm back in the Westcountry.

Still going, just slightly less convenient...

I'll be at this one. Away on Boxing Day is a bit of a tradition and after 4 days at home is a good excuse to disappear for a while.

When was the last time we were at home on Boxing Day? Seems like ages.

Watch it get bloody cancelled due to a frozen pitch now.

Don't say that! Anybody remember Exeter a few years ago?

I'm pretty sure I remember going to see us play Brentford at home on Boxing day 2 years in a row.

Could be wrong though.

Macclesfield away was another Boxing Day 'Treat'

Yeah i only asked a few weeks back via an email to the club on what availability they had for junior red mascot and they gave me Orient. Thanks for the good wishes and well done on landing the SKY fixture it should be a good day for you.

Not really. There's no trains Boxing Day anyway. If you have to drive most of the way, might as well go the whole hog.

Jobsworth cunts.

Come on, they only earn 50k a year for working 35 hours a week for 40 weeks. Atrocious to be asked to do that without striking.

London based fans wouldn't be driving any of it anyway, hence the threat of a tube strike is a bit of a pisser. Never mind, we can all be bus wankers instead  :pint:

Was hoping I'd be able to stick my nose into my flat whilst nearby, just to check a pipe hasn't exploded/squatters have moved in/it's been turned into a kebab shop, as it's on the way back on the central line. No fucking chance of that now, lazy cunts.

Being a tube driver isn't as bad as, say, being a bus driver, or a DLR attendant. They actually have to interact with the cunts on the thing they're driving. Tube drivers don't get cut up going down the northern line do they? Sure it must be pretty fucking boring, but it's hardly the worst job in the world.

This would be a godsend for me. As the boys I usually go with cant make it, I asked the wife if she would like to go and she said yes. Then my cousin calls me (proper wreck head) and suggests we go on an all dayer in London and take in the game too. I've tried to ditch the wife but she's having none of it.

Now the day has lost it's appeal

Would be gutted if it's off.

On a brighter note, looks like some of the tube is running, so I can get a train to Victoria and then district and Central lines. It is worth checking if your going by train as bits of the tube are working.

The really annoying thing is that no other games in the football league are off. Looks to me like they made a rash decision, hasn't been a drop of rain in London since they called it off. In fact, every game in the Conference North and South is on, yet a league one team can't get their game on.

Dagenham and AFC Hornchurch all have game on in a similar(ish) area...

It does seem a little odd, that a game on the eastern side of the country should be the only one off for rain, when the eastern side the country is effectively in a rain shadow, cast by the west. I'd imagine Hearn wanted it gone so slipped the ref a some VIP tickets for the Ally Pally and a brown bag of cash, so the ref could take his missus to the Boxing Day sales at some odious shopping outlet in Essex.

Wimbledon have pulled the same scam too Reg..

Probably the same local ref, doing a two for the price of one offer. Doubtless Dons players wanted a good piss up over Christmas and didn't fancy it.

Are Orient out of the cup?

We could replay on 3rd Round day
We already have a league fixture that day, home to Carlisle. It'll be a Tuesday night.

Can't really believe the game is off for any other reason than the pitch

Traditionally Boxing Day games attract one of a club's best attendances of the year so why would they willingly give up the extra income?

Tin pot club. Can't wait to get out of this league

Do you still believe in Santa Claus?

Kerry is right though, it doesn't make sense. Why deliberately have it postponed when the match will then likely be played on a freezing night with a piss poor attendance? Not exactly the logical thing to do.

I think Reg is very clearly on a wind up, sly goose.

Surely wait until today then to make a decision? Give the game every chance of going ahead, just seems stupid calling it off more than 24 hours in advance

D'Urso was the ref, is anyone surprised he made a dodgy decision.

The yocals are also questioning it:

Bristol City v Watford called OFF after 15mins!!!!(allegedly) or very very late indeed. Now, that is a joke.

Is that right?  :D

Not quite. Match was postponed until 1515 and called off at 1510

Whilst I was looking forward to this, it does mean the re-arranged fixture will be 15 minutes away from my flat instead of a few hours in the car from Dorset.

All this talk of rain being the reason it's been postponed is OBVIOUSLY bollocks. If Doctor Who over the last five or six years has taught us anything, aliens have crashed on the pitch and the government's shut it down so they can examine the remains.

No news yet and they have a game still to play against Brentford too from the 22nd. My guess is they'll see how Brentford do in the cup this weekend and then reschedule both matches.

There is a tiny little chance I might be able to go to this now. Bit of a turn up for the books, seeing as I wasn't expecting to get to another game until Easter weekend!
