If only we had a happy clappy supporters group or something, oh wait we do....I dont like taking digs at people (ok real digs if you will) but if ever there was a need for some happy clappers to get of their arse and do something now would be the time.

My main gripe with a signing area would be, where would it be....my seat I like the view and up untill this season I liked the fact no one sat by me....

Sad but I like the view and wouldnt want to move.....where as most people would probably want the signing area in the Town End....

Next year perhaps we should all be proper cliquey and sit around the same areas.

Also, we could get loads of the brilliant songs we make up on here going - and the shit ones.

I think all of us as town enders as decent Swindon supporters should encourage every player when we get the chance. Even if it's JPM and he's playing shit. The players need all the encouragement they can get at the moment.

You're right "official" is gay, but coordinated meet ups in an agreed empty  area i.e. Arkells near the town end would be good.

Lads in the CGH garden said that the cheer when Millwall scored saturday was a lot louder than when we scored.

Wembley has a singing section for England games. That made me sad. And is part of the reason i no longer go.

I've somehow agreed to go to the Khazakstan game. Might be a logistical nightmare.

the atmosphere this season has been shocking, it's like being at a test match...

We went to get L&P going again but no one could really be bothered in the end. A lot of people have moved on to other things in their life, Personal issues, a couple of the main people involved are moving so it ended up dying a death... You never know though.....

The problem was pricing the season tickets for Townend/Nationwide/Arkells at the same rate.  This has lead to a half full TE at best for some games.  Thats were the atmosphere at the CG comes from.

It's part of the reason, but it's been a challenge sustaining any kind of atmosphere since McMahon's final days I think.

Talking of singing why cant our fans be like Alborg,they sung all through the match even when they was 3-0 down,the crowd was only just over 10,000,if we done the same  thing rather than just sat there looking for an excuse to moan we just might get some decent performances.

Im not sure about that DV i wouldt be happy getting beat 3-0 by united,my point really is our ground is like a home game for the opposition,what happened to the days when we used to sing were going to win 3-2 when we are 2-0 down,It's like everybody is sat there waiting for the worst to happen,Im sure some of you can remember the division 4 games with about 3,000 crowd singing their hearts out.

Most embarrassing was last season being outsung by about 50 vale fan's,If it takes happy clappers or ticker tape or whatever to create an atmosphere then im all for it,not  keen on drums tho its a bit to wendyish.

I'd concur with that. It shouldn't need to be forced, if the team fucking sort themselves out then it will improve naturally.

It should be in the Don Rogers Stand - people will sing in the TE anyway ... maybe should have been thought of at the start of the season tho

Think it's going to take a few "singers" to bite the bullet and move back to the TE, the cup would be a good idea to trial it out I suppose.

It was inevitable that once moved to the DRS the (then) townenders would become quiet clappy types.

Still, I am one to talk. It's an effort to drag myself to games let alone join in with any chants. Saying that, I think the only ones I didn't join in with against Millwall were the anti-Malpas ones.

Fuck drums, fuck designated singing sections. It's all so plastic fantastic Franchise. All you can do is get a decent set of you to all sit/stand together and start some songs off.

We did it against Tramnere but unfortunately everyone behind us either wasnt interested or was one of the kids at the back of the DRS who seem to have had a few too many red bulls and sing far too fast.

Well Franchise have a better atmosphere than us. Plastic franchise cunts or not, at least they get behind their team which is more than can be said for our support this season.

Il tell you how it happened though. All our youngsters constantly speed up chants until they collapse.

The new generation of supporters dont know how to support their team. Theres no way I would join in with any chant by the young supporters because they just embaress us.

And yet the Town End was very good just a few years ago. Where did they go so wrong?

The moment of realisation for me was Barnet FA Cup last season. Their support was 90 percent teenage lads, but they supported their team absolutely fantastic. Great support, chants that went on and on, louder and louder, you could see it raising the players, we never got a chant in edgways.

Maybe we should start a campaign to save our support? Sing up, slow down?

 Could we not have a Whingeing area....where all the moaners can gather and really let rip. Bart could lead complete with megaphone..

Probably easier to organise.

Ive just remmembered the most embaressing moment of all time them all regarding our teenage supporters.

At Aldershot, having sped up every Swindon chant, and used them all up in the first 5 minutes, they realised that Aldershot were not playing to the same rules, and getting behind their side with some sustained, in time chanting.

So what did they do?

We already have two singing areas, one side of the Town End and Block 1 in the DR Stand. Having another one would dilute things even more.
