I heard that the selectors were considering calling up Gough or Caddick, can anyone confirm that? I'd have thought their experience would be a bonus, Anderson seems like a bit of gamble
but I don't know much! I'm sure Caddick was mentioned and perhaps even Gough. I heard Cork was pretty close to selection. We're fucked if Joner ain't fit in my opinion.

Wouldn't agree that we're fucked if Si Jones isn't fit, just means that the rest of the bowlers will have to step it up a notch. Remember, its looking like Glenn Mac is out, and the Aussies will be screwed if he ain't fit!

Mcgrath has said he's going to play, but it could all be a mind fuck. i'm still not convinced that the convicts are dead and buried yet, especially if they win the toss, their batsmen are due runs, and where better than the feather-bed surface at the oval?I wonder if macgill will play as well, although the essex batsmen smashed him around over the weekend,he is still a good bowler and could do a job for the fuckers.

Is that speculation Reg, or has that been announced? Well its Anderson or Collingwood, and the stated aim is to carry on being aggressive....presumably Collingwood might be seen as being defensive.

Its a batting pitch though, so would have thought they would go for the extra batsman (who can also bowl a bit) rather than a specialist bowler?

That's exactly why you need the extra bowler....you can't play to draw in modern test cricket and to win you need 5 bowlers, unless you've a Warne,

Quite right Reg, we need someone who can be relied upon to bowl a large number of overs, and take a few wickets, otherwise a part time bowler would get twatted about.
