Claridge is shit anyway.
Rocastle would have been a decent signing.

This really is laughable. Not that he would have saved us, we're fucked anyway.

Did it not occur to the management to get him to sign before parading him in front of the press?

These things happen but by Christ it feels like a new low and has to be the first time I've seriously questioned Iffy's appointment. Perhaps we were spoilt with King's ability to always make a solid first impression on players and when given the rope would normally get his target every time. Rocastle just appears to be a fuck up of thunderous proportion. I dare say Stirrcock has put his oar in and sent him the way of the Yeovil after being peeved yesterday evening with the early announcement. I’d quite have liked a Claridge until the end of the season although it’s desperandum material made all the worse by the fact it does sound like a decent signing and we still lose the old goat to Walsall. That’s two old goats and a whippersnapper they’ve beat us to this season. Things haven't felt quite so futile in years.
