I'll throw in a new one, Peterborough. Completely agree with you about Milton Keynes (1960s planning accident)...but think you're being a little hard on Peterborough. In an article about each of the away grounds/towns we would be visiting in the 1995/96 season, one of our fanzines described Peterborough as 'Swindon with a cathedral', which I thought was quite apt. The suburbs are just as nondescript as Swindon's, but the centre is a little further up market. |
