He can be on his day a fantastic defender but oh my god, his distribution is simply abysmal. 2 games now i've seen him pass to nobody!!! What is he thinking? Hes all talk at the minute blaming him for every mistake (which isn't good for Ifils confidence and shouldn't be done publicly by the manager). He should be dropped and then hopefully come back a better player.

He seems to play better in a central 3 than a 2. Also, a player lacking confidence seen as his manager is quick to single him out... I think we'd miss him at the back if he wasn't there, especially if the opposing team had 2 quick forwards.

Jerel's just going through a bad patch, but he's still one of the club's best defenders. With the truly magnificient signing of the Andrew Gurney there'll be a bit more competition at the back, but I'd be sceptical about bringing in Colym-Platt so quickly into a side which only just seems to be settling down. I think if Ifil is given a run in the side and allowed to build up some confidence he can be a class act. Just because he looks shakey at his tender young age does not mean we should give up on him.
