Turnbull is a better centre back than Stephens IMO, Stephens will make a great defensive midfielder though.

indeed, although they'd have a few more weeks to find that out - even if a club didn't want him now, they might in a few weeks as transfers continue to take place.  I mean, look at Blackburn, possible they won't have any forwards left in the space of a few days.  Looks like the transfer market is lowly moving into gear now.

Would be good, may also suggest Southampton aren't so keen on him long term if they are happy for him to stay at this level, maybe a potential signing at some point? like Byrne and Luongo.

He signed a 4yr contract extension in the summer, so did Stephens i think

Turnbull/Thompson/Williams as the back 3 looks maybe even better than last season to me. Turnbull with a year under his belt and Williams looks a more natural defender than Stephens did.

I've not been to one of the friendlies but keep hearing we've switched to 4-3-3 which I think will suit Turnbull much better.

Would be really happy to see him back.

Stephens came back for the 2nd time and it worked well, now testing the championship, Turnbull is following suit.

Apparently there's a chance we may be getting Turnbull back. Spoke to a mate of mine who has a friend close to Turnbull... apparently they're thinking about giving him one more season in League One before stepping him up to Championship.

I'm not holding my breath though. It wouldn't surprise me if they keep Jack and Jordan together.

So it might turn out that my mate was completely correct...

Does your mate know anything else? He may be our best source of information in the current climate. If not, just make some stuff up and say that he told you - that will do...

Stephens signed an extention to 2019 the day he signed for Middlesborough.

This is why some need to learn to be patient.... you just don't know who we might sign.

Is the Liverpool goalie any good? Is that position covered if we sign him?

Reg when BBC tweet something about STFC it usually means it's going to happen.
I can only think of one time a couple of seasons back when they jumped the gun with a defender who ended up at Fleetwood I think in the end.
As flashheart says they're usually spot on.

But you're right no confirmation as yet from the club
