Title: Christmas plans
Post by: 4D on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 00:46:44
Wassup to?

I am doing nowt, a couple of beers but mostly exercising, stopped smoking, gonna get back to the weights and boxing. I suppose Christmas means different things to different people?

Do my usual Christmas period 'gain a stone, lose a stone' by gorging and drinking and so on. This year it'll be more difficult because of work- can't gain weight for the life of me! (I understand many of you will hate me for this, but the way I see it once I find it hard to lose weight I'll probably be quite dead quite soon).

First christmas after the 'rents divorced as well, so shall be the first attempt at the juggling act that becomes (I expect to fail miserably)

Road trip to Berlin, catch the 05.30 train to Calais, lazy drive to Hanover for an overnight stop, then onto Berlin for 6 days , Going to drop into Arnhem and Nihmeghen( a bit like the 85th/101st airborne did) on the way back.

Year one, avoid both and set out your stall.

My parents split in '95. Alternating Christmas betwixt Mum and Dad wasn't all that bad as a young kid because I essentially got two Christmases.

As an adult, I now have to juggle Christmases between Mum, Dad and the in-laws.

Parent down Xmas along with In Laws, twins birthday and Wedding Anniversay on 28th and then up to Swindon for my birthday on the 1st.

Off work from 23rd to 2nd - I like it as its the only time of the year when you can take time off of work and when you return you don't suffer death by email.

Mark Lawrensen used to run the Eagle at Little Coxwell, I hope they've fumigated it.

Many many moons ago, I used to go out there when the landlady used to hand make the best Cornish pasties this side of the River Tamar.

Often go to Lacock over Christmas, nice place for a wonder around and a pint of real ale beside a log fire. Imber church is open to the public from the 27th Dec until the 5th of Jan if you've never been its well worth a visit.

It can be a fucking shitter for self employed people that don't receive a salary. Being without work, and an income, because of other people's fantasy beliefs is not good.

Fortunately for me this year I have enough money and will be spending time on the beach where I should get to forget all about it.

Boxing Day- 11am 10 mile Time Trial with the local cycling club. Pub dinner( with one eye on my phone checking the score) with inlaws then to theirs for the rest of the Day.

Indeed, every year we vow to put money aside to cover the 2 week site shutdown my husband has without pay.  Every year, something crops up which prevents us from doing that.  We won't get properly back on top of our money until mid February.

You get a lot of tired and emotional ladies during the festive period....the bulk of the Christmas stuff falls firmly at their door. Evidenced by fellas on here...when asked what they do, answer doss about, eat loads drink loads...the burden falls on the women...which is why, given half the chance they're out on the razzle.

Boxing day at Brentford after all  :) Christmas day and Boxing day family do in Ruislip. Carry on the instruction/brainwashing to niece and nephews regarding allegiance for Town instead of Watford / QPR, although weirdly without my influence their choice has always been for following the team of their fathers birth as oppose to local temptations. So a quick drive down dinner time walk along the Thames for a bit. quick pint or two and watch the Town win - job is a jolly Christmas good one !

I love Christmas, But mainly enjoy it indoors with family and friends, as soon as you go outdoors it's full of traffic jams and people going mad trying to get a bargain in the shops :headhurts: that said can't wait for tomorrow and Brentford on Boxing Day  :pint: merry Christmas you bunch of cunts :)

Been down the shops to dump a load of cans off to the can bank as the box was full. Got another house full later today so needed to make space.
spilling beer dregs over my new top wasn't planned though >:(
