I've watched a few films recently:
First up was The Hurricane not nearly as good as I remembered it to be. Still, it was mildly engrossing, even if the story was very very loosely based on the truth.
I also watched 1984 which I've wanted to watch for a while. Not nearly as good as the book and in fact had I not read the book many years ago I'd have probably been utterly confused.
Yesterday night I watched Slap Shot which I found quite amusing in places. An easy watch and I don't really know too much about Ice Hockey but enjoyed it all the same.

I quite enjoyed Alice in Wonderland! Watched it in 3D was an enjoyable say to while away a few hours - don't think I really get Johnny Depp though?? I just find his whole "wacky" thing annoying!!

The last few days for me has been...
Some Lindsey Lohan shit where she pretends to be pregnant - nothing to say about that one.
Fantastic Mr Fox - far better than I expected. Very good.
An Education - Terrific.

Really? Endings are generally what happens when a film gets towards the end.

I thought Alice in Wonderland was good. Flawed but good.
Good points - visuals, characters, voice acting by the brits
Bad points - mad hatter (the accent, that fucking dance!!), feminist empowerment ending that doesn't fully sit well, generic battle at end
The first 30-45 mins is superb.
Well worth seeing if you like the look of Burton films.

Saw Alice at the weekend too. Didn't expect much, but thought it was superb 9/10. I saw it in an imax, and would add, that i didn't add much if anything to the visuals.

Following on from that I'd say the 3D also doesn't add much. The 3D isn't as good as in Avatar, probably because Avatar was shot with 3D camera whereas Alice was shot with normal cameras and converted to 3D afterwards.
If you see Alice in 2D you won't be missing out on much.

I'm not a fan of slasher/zombie films as a rule, but Dead Snow was pretty good

Premonition last night on film 4.
A time bending, time travelling slab of gloom. Too depressing to be any good, required too much thought and I am sure the continuity wasn't 100% right.

Tonight i'm watching 'Law Abiding Citizen' starring Gerard Butler.
The trailer looks great. It's a classic revenge movie. 2 guys break in his home and kill his daugther and wife and leave him badly injured. One of the guys goes to death row for it but the other only gets 10 years after cutting a deal with the DA.
He sets about his revenge on the two killers and the DA who gave one of them a light sentence.
