Adver mega-commenter Daniel Adams, he normally gets on my tits anyway but whilst food shopping earlier this week, he, his wife and two kids rolled into Lidl together, older kid had a mini trolley and was just allowed to go wherever, little kid in the big trolley, both parents just wandering around completely ignoring social distancing. I mean, he looks like he needs his hard drives checked at the best of times, but come on...

Just watched TOTP from 1989 and just realised that Alice Cooper wasn't about 60 odd in the Poison video (which is what I thought at the time).

I am a volunteer Cruise Ship Ambassador over here and we help cruise ship visitors with info etc. A couple asked me a question about getting a tripper boat to Tresco, as they were stressed they would get the wrong boat - I said ' don't panic all the tripper boats go somewhere lovely - it's not like one goes to Catford' to which they replied 'we live in Catford'..................

Brilliant. I'll bet the seconds that followed were a bit awkward.

In any case, we are going to party like it’s his birthday. And we don’t give damn if it is not his birthday

Can mean a few things, but most commonly: someone smaller/younger than the person saying it, maybe woman but not necessarily, someone who is a beginner at something. In songs it's usually a desriable woman.

Petrol station question.
In America they have little switches on the 'gas' pump so that when you turn it on, you can clip it in position and it will fill the tank then cut out automatically, without the need to squeeze the handle the whole time. I've seen some similar things on pumps in the UK but they never stay in place. Am I doing it wrong or have they been disabled?
