OK, we were on the wrong end of another inept referee, but we are too easy to play against for even modest Div 3 teams, which ultimately is the reason for defeat.

That wasnt an easy win for Bury.

That wasnt an easy win for Bury.

Looked easy to me.....basic game plan.... kick a few early doors, wait for defensive error(s)  then sit in, and time waste.

Work the ref by whining and rolling around after challenges.  Good game management....

Doughty has had an Appendix out and it was an operation not keyhole so this will mean at least 8 weeks out.

We're 11th in the table of average League 1 attendances.  We've not been that low in a long while.  And just the 2,000-odd lower than Oxford and Bristol Rovers.  Early days...but still.

Right Ive calmed down a bit now.

More considered opinions, Barry had a mare as has been said.  Right side was ineffective.  They had the measure of us there.

Left side was better, Brophy should be given the ball more and be encouraged.  We still seem to be reluctant to let him have the ball.

Thought the front 2 held it up well when they got it.

Defence - we missed the Liverpool lad.  Their big 11 bullied our smaller defenders throughout the match.  And got away with it.  The sort of mates with the ref performance that the likes of Grant Holt exposed us and our inexperienced defence with last year.

In midfield its quite exciting.  Thomas is a weak link.  As is Rodgers when he is about.  If we get a run of games with Doughty, Kasim and the Watford lad in the season we could get a lot of good results.  Very impressed with the new guy and was a shame to see him go off.  I can only imagine its due to fitness at this stage.

Why do Swindon fans always seem to blame the ref?

Thomas was hugely improved once he dropped back to a more defensive role after Goddard came on. Not sure the plan to move him forward has worked.

tbf, the ref was a complete tit today. He's not the (only) reason we lost, but he was bloody hopeless.

I dont think anyone was completely blaming the ref.  Even me.  I think we've all said the performance was shit.

The referee was next level shit though.

Unlike Flasher, I'm not into conspiracy theories, but the ref was called Breakspear, the name of the only Englishman to become Pope. Pope somehow managed to avoid red for stretchering JSW. Coincidence  Hmmm
