Title: Yakubu to boro...
Post by: Piemonte on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, 11:36:37
.... for £6.5m. First big deal of the summer. Decent value I think, he's a good player.

Cant wait for hasselbaink's hissy fit when he gets dropped for Yakubu

Also just read that Villa are signing Berger on a free.  Pompy could have less players than us in a few weeks time

I'd say £6.5m for him is a bit on the pricey side.

He'll learn a lot from Hasslbaink - temperament, loyalty, money is not always the most important thing...

i would as well i can see him being really poor this season as well for some reason. Fitted in well at pompey but in another team he might not suit them and well thats a waste of money.

£7m I think they've paid for him and it's a steal bearing in mind he's still only 22.

If we pay over £6m for Yakubu I'll not be happy, he's dead overrated.

As over-rated as Drogba?

Personally I think the fee sounds about right

Cant' make my mind up about him.  He'll either be a storming success or the next Michael Ricketts...  Boro seem to be good at picking carthouses, so I am expecting the latter.
