Not been but an old ear from work swears by it.  Quite cheap still but not sure if it's going to be your cup of tea nowadays.

There was a program on a year or so back and it showed the authorities are really clamping down on its hippy/party reputation to the extent where you can now get severely nailed for a having a bifta.

It showed a group of chaps who had been there during its party heyday and tracked them around as they went over all of their old haunts now smashed to pieces by the police.  On the night of full moon they searched in vein for a party only to hit dead end after dead end and when they did find something it was raided and stopped within an hour.

Although New Years may be a good bet, see above.

"Now it's only during Christmas and New Year that you can be guaranteed an organised rave on a scale to match Ibiza or Thailand."

"Hang out in Anjuna, a focal point for travellers, and while you're stocking up on hippy nick-nacks at the flea market, get the low down on the place to be."

Could well be, but worth doing some research.

I quite fancy Cambodia as the next stop.  Cheap as chips and supposed to be kicking off for parties and the like.

Plus the smoke is supposed to be quality.  Friend got back from there and couldn't praise it enough.

He said he was in one area where no one spoke any English and really wanted a smoke.

The only person he could find with a smattering of English was a monk who only went and got him a smoke but for free!

He gave him a few quid after a couple of joints together and made his day.
