Basically, if your under 26 you can get free tickets to any show at the Wyvern (subject to availability). They have a comedy festival in March with quite a few well known stand-up comedians so I suggest you get in there early. A Night Less Ordinary is an Arts Council England scheme in association with Metro, which will provide 618,000 free theatre tickets to anyone under 26 in more than 200 venues across England. For more information about the scheme visit www.anightlessordinary.org.uk The Wyvern Theatre is delighted to be one of the venues taking part in this exciting initiative and we look forward to welcoming under 26 year olds free of charge at least one day a week from February 2009 to March 2011, subject of course, to availability! To book your tickets please phone us on 01793 524 481 quoting 'Free Stage', stating which performance you would like to come to. Please see the FAQs section for further information. http://www.wyverntheatre.org.uk/content.asp?CategoryID=1586&ArticleID=609

Ooh, very nice. The Arts Centre is in it as well, as well as some of the posh ones in London- even the RSC for gawd's sakes.
I likes free stuff I do.

I think it's a good initiative...it's self evident from reading on this place that most of the u 26's live in a cultural desert, where the finer arts of intellectual life have yet to reach. Whether these be drama, classical music, ballet, poetry or literature
It's just a shame that there aren't many on display at the Wyvern in the forthcoming programme.

Have you seen the list for the Swindon literature festival this year Reg? Sir David Attenborough is going to be in attendence and Margaret Drabble. Not to mention Bob Wilson and Marcus Trescothick Exciting stuff! I haven't got round to the Matisse exhibit at the Swindon museum yet,but it will happen.Lots of good arty stuff going on at the moment even if your over 26

The problem with a lot of plays is that the actors have the abilities straight off the set of Eastenders.

You'll be lucky to find much in the way of plays at the Wyvern....I'm not really grumbling because they have to be at least a bit commercial, but it's disappointing when for example The Tempest is a one off at 11 am on a Sunday morning and Romeo and Juliet is shown for SATS prep.
