Miles Storey will score 78, and re-open the age old debate of why we let him go (when he goes).

Low scoring win or a generally negative result. Mild panic by the usual suspects across social media.

...enter the small gang of knee-jerkers...

I'm going to this, more through boredom than anything else. I expect to be wondering who 75% of our team is. I'll also probably be really impressed with one trialist, who we'll never see, or hear, about again.

This, though it won't be a mild panic.

At least I hope not, given that I'm not going it's all I've got to look forward to.

By mild panic, I meant just a handful of the usual knee-jerkers. The majority wouldn't care either way... hopefully.

Well obviously, but I think you're wildly optimistic. More like 479 + Kerry's greyhound, in his absence.

1-0 marine. started after branco misplaced pass gave them a throw, but that was only the start. keeper failed to claim ball from corner shortly after, nearly saved shot but they trapped in

typical friendly so far, #6 defender looks OK. #4 lively but not worth the rave reviews he's getting from to my right. impossible to tell much more.

not much more to report really. plenty of possession, not created too much. our mid #21 looks off the pace, not impressed with fwd #20 either. mid #4 looks willing to try and get and play the ball. def #6 looks OK, but hadn't been tested too much.

marine has a chance with s long bal that the keeper just got too.

hard to judge anyone really in a half against marine.

BOO has looked OK, about Thompson sized playing on the left.

Just home. Typical pre-season friendly. Passed it around a lot, didn't create much in the first half.

Looked more lively in the second. The bulked up Story added some pace down the right and looked good, then the other Story appeared as he did too much and kept running into trouble.

I'd love to write a more worthwhile report, but as I didn't recognise our own players I doubt wobbling on about trialists I don't recognise is going to be much help. I thought #4, #6 and #14 may be worth another run out. But what do I know.

Trouble with this game is there was no first team to put out there, so can't even give any relevant insight into that (Kassim, BOO and Smith did OK)

Hopefully the Liverpool trio are signed up before the Everton game so we can treat the match as a decent warm-up.

Enjoyed that. I lived the high life today as guest of match sponsors. Cooper looked very relaxed and had a word for everyone. Power turned up with what must have been agents. Very friendly and informal people at supermarine. On the pitch fuck knows. Lots of players I didn't know. Supermarine looked pretty good. I can't remember the friendly being played this early before. We've got a month now to get it together. I'm confident we will be ready
