There's a long way to go before we can all start pointing fingers of blame or singing "we are going up". The result of this game, and the next four or five, will not give a true indication of our league position at the end of the season.

Think Swindon and Tranmere from last season.

Who cares about the result? It's Saturday 3rd August and Football is back FFS!!!!

What is important is the performance, and I just hope the new Town are able to give us something to enjoy. Sometimes.

As for predictions (my predictions are consistently incorrect):

Wes will give away a penalty, but will not be sent off this time.

The town will struggle in attack, but will score once.

Peterborough will huff and puff for 90 minutes

BUT I CAN confidently predict that we will not be at the bottom of Div I tonight, and that we will be at least 7 points clear of the bottom club. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23548760).

Roll on the kick off)!!!

I remember only a couple of seasons back the first game of the season when Norwich had just been relegated from the Championship and were favourites to go back up up (similar to Posh today) and they thought this league would be a walk in the park and got hammered at home 7-1

There are always surprises on the first day of the season, maybe it could be us today?

They could do.

You couldn't write this stuff eh? His first game in charge against his old club.

"I'm looking forward to the day. I'm going to try and enjoy it and make sure we put on as good a performance as we can."
Mark Kooper

Anyone have a feeling for the starting XI? 4-4-2? 4-2-3-1? 4-3-3? It seemed against Cirencester to be a 4-2-3-1.

Either way, good luck this afternoon lads!

I've not seen any pre-season matches so hard to make any predictions...but feel less confident about a new season than for a long time. I'll be pleased with a draw.

Have no idea what to expect, but I don't think we'll gauge a massive amount from today's result anyway as to how the season will pan out.  Hope we don't get hammered.
