Title: Xbox HDMI problems Post by: Jimmy Glass is an Alien on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, 13:46:01 The lad has an xbox 360 which works perfectly fine via HDMI on the living room TV. We decided to move the console into his room to allow us to watch TV as opposed to be dictated to!
The issue I have is since the xbox has moved up to his room, the same HDMI cable will not pick up his xbox. I know the HDMI port works as it was used for his PS3 previously. The xbox works as it plays through component cable, but as there are no slots for the audio cables he has to play in silence. I have taken the xbox back downstairs and tried to change the visual settings to allow it be picked up on the upstairs TV, but when I connect it back up via HDMI it still isn't picked up. When connected by component it doesn't have an option to reset or change the visual settings. Aside from purchasing a new TV, am I missing anything that will allow me to get either the HDMI to work or find a way to get audio to work on component when there are no spare ports for the cables? They suggest trying auto.detect visual settings on.the.xbox or if not, reset the TV to factory settings. I'm not recommending either :), just what I read.

Had a recent issue with a telly not recognising the aerial, did a factory reset and it was fine. I haven't got an Xbox, but isn't there a button combo you can press on start up to reset the visual settings to default?
