Indeed, although I do not measure Germanys' footballing success or failure on the basis of Englands achievements
No, but I do in reverse. Every WC (and Euro) I had a £5 bet with my late German nan, which has transferred to my mum. Whoever does better in the tournament wins. I've not won £5 yet. I'm 44 (forty fucking four). Its not the money you understand.

I think my favourite WC qualifier was the 5-1 drubbing we handed out in Munich

I think my favourite WC qualifier was the 5-1 drubbing we handed out in Munich Despite the excellence of that occasion, Germany still got to the final, with a fairly average side. We did one of our tricks of messing up the group to get the more difficult draw in KO.... in that case failing to beat Nigeria so getting Brazil. Germany's passage to the final.... Paraguay....USA in quarter and South Korea in semi...all won 1-0. I thought we'd managed to crack that when getting Iceland in the Euro.....

He stopped at a service station for a pee. Someone clocked he was German. "We won , we won" they say. Oh no not the war again thinks Thorston, for that was his name. "we won, we won" .. "5-1, even Heskey scored".... - Yeah, it was funnier when he told it. And he's German.

Some nice hats and outfits spotted on the southbound Bakerloo line this morning.
Presumably on the way to Ascot for the racing.
Couple of them were Australians who weren't too bothered with showing the tatts off as well. Maybe also not too fussed that Ladies Day was yesterday.
