They are giving £90m to the fl which appears at first to be a great gesture im sure you will agree.

When you read into it though it says that it has to be spent on academys etc. So basically they want us to take the money and produce better players that they can cherry pick from us

Seems a bit out of order to me

personally i think it's great. too many clubs are having to do away with there academys or youth set up cos of funding costs.

if this helps a team like ourselves produce another Lucas and see him move on to a premiership side then i'm all for it cos without it people like Lucas would never have gotten a sniff

And in the grand scheme of things £90M isn't much...

And you just know it'll be £60M to Championship clubs, £18M to League 1, £12M to League 2....

Why don't they just divide it up £1M per club in the FL?
Apparantly we all have an equal share in the FL (info from the Leeds case), just that some are more equal than others....

Cant see the problem, clubs are running academys out of their own money anyway so this money will obviously be a help and football league clubs are not forced to sell their players to premier league clubs they chose to.

Speculate to accumulate.

Spend the money on youth development - sell the best youths to the premiership.

I think it's a good idea. Buying the good players from lower league opposition is always going to happen anyway and you could probably argue their fees are over-inflated because they're home grown talent.

Im not saying its a bad idea just think the way they have come about saying they are doing it for the lower leagues when its obvious its for there own benefit

The only thing i don't get about it is the way Championship get more than League One etc. Surely that just encourages bigger financial divides further down the heirarchy?
