Watched Terminator Salvation finally this evening and was pleasantly surprised.  It was always going to be one where you just switch your brain off but enjoyable nonetheless.

Black Swan - watched it as someone said it was raunchy.  It wasn't. Good film though but not my cup of tea.

I watched the adjustment bureau last weekend.

It was neither brilliant nor pants.

A film which could have been made a bit better by sustaining the intrigue for a bit longer I reckon.

That's a good point well made!

Watched The Sitter yesteday. It's pretty funny and it always helps when a film based around kids involved decent performances from it's main stars.

I watched 127 hours the other day.

Remarkable true story, unremarkable film.

Now that sounds like my kind of film.

I've got that to watch. Meant to be the flipside to Tree of Life.

There's a good list of the best films of 2011 here, surprisingly compiled and (really well) written by the DJ High Contrast:

http://www.highlycontrasting.com/2012/01/02/top-ten-films-2011/

Of the list I've seen Black Swan, Submarine, 15 minutes of Tinker Tailor (I was hungover and fell asleep in the cinema), and Drive (best film for ages).

Kill List sounds ... interesting.

Watched a few Swedish films recently, Arn: Templar Knight and its follow up Kingdom at Road's End. If you like historical films or your bird wants a love story and doesn't mind mostly subtitles (some section in English) then this would be right up your street.

The Girl Who trilogy (Dragon Tattoo, Hornets Nest & Played with Fire) were really really good. Going to give the books a read at some point after i've forgotten what its all about.

I went to see J. Edgar last night... an interesting insight into Hoover as a man, well played by Di Caprio.

I watched the remake of True Grit last night, it was superb. Great performances from the leads and a very good Coen brothers script.
