Definitely something up in the German camp, they were never really at the races today and looked laboured and at some points disinterested. Fatigue perhaps?
Interesting that something like 5 of the last 6 winners have gone out next time in the group stage...... it's as if the manager, holds on to the old guard for too long, out of loyalty.... further it can't be easy for fellas like Werner and Kimmich coming in to side where most already have the winners medal. Last summer in the Confed Cup, Loew didn't bother with the old guard but won it with mostly kids.... they then won the U 21, even though many of the Confed lot were eligible. The likes of T Muller, Ozil, Khedira, Boateng look to have passed their time.....

A 2.6 magnitude earthquake recorded in Surrey according to the BGS. Must have been fans jumping up and down watching the EU’s favourite sons make another humiliating retreat from Russia.

Yes I saw it. I assumed two of the blokes they spoke two were the ones named on the flag (one was 'Dad' I think)...didn't recognize any of them though.

Last time Germany were knocked out at this stage was 1938. They didn’t take that too well, we might need to keep an eye on them

So, the big question: How do you approach tonight's game? Do you leave out some key players to keep them fresh for the Last 16? Do you look at the 2nd place route and somehow try to end up losing the game? Or do you play the strongest team and try to win as convincingly as possible? A quarter final against Sweden or Switzerland is very appealing, but I'm not sure making wholesale changes for a key game is ideal. Not to mention the farce of two teams trying not to win a game of football. The possible permutations are laid out here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44620166

We've already called a high level meeting to discuss the next course of action

England should play to win. It's all about momentum and confidence.

I'm sure they'll play to win for that reason Sippo.
Question is whether players are rested. Personally don't like doing that, but England A losing to a Belgium B team could be confidence affecting.
Think I'd give Kane and a few others a rest, go for the win but not be concerned either way.

Indeed, do anything bar trying to win and we will invariably fuck it up. Am I alone in finding the wank fest about Germany losing all rather tin pot.....
