Do customers at the bank in front of me never have any simple transaction to do? The old fella next to me in the queue said his fiver would be worth more by the time he left

Most are closing branches, claiming they're not used enough because of internet banking.

Just got a quote for renewing my home/contents from my existing insurer - £275.61
Used a comparison site and the cheapest, exact same cover £82.82
Takes the piss

Just got over mine. Just short of a week, but it has played havoc with my appetite - don’t seem to fancy much at all.

Submitting online tax return. When the previous year of profligacy comes back to haunt. Still, relieved it's over and done with for another year.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

Is beer not tax deductible?
Should be. Food is generally not an allowable expense as HMRC say “everyone must eat to live”. Doesn't cover those of us who need a real ale diet to survive, so maybe a doctors note is needed.

Roughly worked out the cost of commuting to Avonmouth for work in my Type R, as I may be getting moved up there for work... in fuel alone it'd eat pretty much half of any pay increase I would get. Might be worth getting a crappy boring reliable Jap diesel for the slog, as I'm really not keen on getting rid of my Civic!
