Title: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Red Frog on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 21:25:01 Oh well. Another year in this feckin awful league. Think is my last MoM poll. Will post the season results once the dust settles.
:crash: Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 21:28:55 Iandolo easily.
Baudry a close second. Surely he's got another season in him. So composed on the ball. Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Nemo on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 21:36:25 Iandolo, then Baudry. Defence all did well really.
Midfield sadly let us down. Louis Reed, brilliant all season probably had his two most anonymous games in the playoffs. McKirdy did nothing but without service. Davison worked his bollocks off and got beaten up by the defence, but doesn't have that extra bit of quality sadly. Still, it's fine margins. Hope most of this squad is back next season - even today, if we'd had anything resembling reinforcements on the bench we could have got over the line. Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Nomoreheroes on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 21:36:42 Iandolo was the best player on the park for us.
Ward did everything you could expect of him. Dealt with some awful back passes from Conroy. Couple of good saves plus saving 2 pens. Baudry was next best. Won so many headers, a couple of Cruyff moments and solid. May have played their scorer on side Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Honkytonk on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 22:04:15 Iandolo MotM but props to Ward, kept us in it a couple of times and 2 great penalty saves back to back kept us hoping.
As always with Town, it was false hope, but hope nevertheless... Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: NotHarryAgombar on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 22:08:15 Ellis Iandolo - comfortably, and despite the missed pen.
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: adje on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 22:09:15 Baudry for me. Pure class. Closely followed by Iandolo and Egbo
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: molepar on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 22:31:13 Iandolo and Payne for me. Class from start to finish despite Iandolo getting an absolute clattering. Ward did very well in the shootout and if JJW leaves he would be a very decent starting keeper in league 2. McKirdy was marked out of the game and missed the pen in the shootout but I think his reaction was his way of internalising it. If he had kicked off or got visibly upset then I think the Vale fans and players would have played on that. Did any of the players get attacked? I heard a lot of missiles went flying towards town fans.
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Swindon Please Win on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 22:37:26 Iandolo, gutted for him.
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: theakston2k on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 23:49:55 Iandolo easy. Donkey award goes to Davison, effort doesn’t disguise a complete lack of ability!
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Batch on Friday, May 20, 2022, 00:14:48 Egbo.
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: LucienSanchez on Friday, May 20, 2022, 00:39:59 Iandolo for me. A fair few disappointments, but that’s irrelevant now

Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, May 20, 2022, 07:55:11 Full backs, Baudry, Ward, Williams all excellent. Went for Iandolo. Is he actually a decent full back now?
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, May 20, 2022, 08:03:40 I plumped for Jack Payne in the end as he seemed to be the one that looked likely to make things happen. That said, I though Ellis despite a shaky start and Baudry and to a lesser extent Egbo were also good. Ward did what he had to do.
I suspect Ellis might be our club captain next season. Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Friday, May 20, 2022, 08:15:00 Or Baudry 🙂 I really hope Baudry can be persuaded to keep going for another season. Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: adje on Friday, May 20, 2022, 08:18:50 I really hope Baudry can be persuaded to keep going for another season. Yes. Not only has he been superb but he seems to make Conroy a better player alongside him Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, May 20, 2022, 09:03:48 Baudry easily for me, Iandolo started awful (they all did) and grew into the game but Baudry was excellent again. Payne had a good game from 35 mins in.

Ellis and Baudry ended up being undroppable towards the end of the season, can you imagine after last season that being the case?

Ellis made the same number of league starts this season as in his six previous Town seasons combined. He must hate Vale more than most, 2 visits ago he had his leg broke by one of their Neanderthal’s.Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: kerslakeisgod on Friday, May 20, 2022, 18:52:37 Correct, Mr Leon Legge, its in their nature to be violent as handing pottery all day makes them dainty at work :girlgiggle:
Title: Re: Port Vale vs STFC MoM Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Saturday, May 21, 2022, 14:50:45 Ian. Penos don't count in a MoM vote. That's a pure coin flipping exercise.
Special mention to Ward (who incidentally was class in the coin flip) and Baudry. Call me mad but I think you entice him to do another year by giving him the armband for next season. |
