I agree there this is a million miles from a shit draw, but I still can't get excited about a potential tie against Derby.

They seemed clued up http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4731&page=6Swindon's a newish ground is it? ... opened in 1896 apparently, looks fairly new though
Not much comment there, but most of them seem to want Crawley

Whilst we might all have wanted one of the big Prem teams,it's a decent enough draw providing of course we beat Crawley in the replay.
The two things that i'll be interested in seeing are firstly, the level/quality that we'll need if and when we can get back into the Championship, sooner rather than later!
Secondly, how Charlie copes against Championship defenders.

2 very interesting points there. I think there will be quite a few people outside the club that will be taking an interest in the second point especially.

Didn't we play them in the cup back in the late 80's / early 90's? At home when we were in the 3rd (or 4th) and they were 1st or 2nd? Peter Shilton was in goal for them and he got beaten by a cross / shot. Think we got a result, draw or a win.
Can one of the oldies confirm the details?
Well I guess I'll have to speak for the 80s "oldies" . I think we were 4th Div at the time and remember that stonking goal from the right-wing at the Town End (was it Hockaday?) mainly because one of their players went down injured as we scored and I uttered my funniest ever football quip: "What's wrong with him -shock?". So how do you remember all this young Jonny?

I'm not that young. But it was 20 years ago and I have problems remembering what I was doing 5 minutes ago.

Decent enough draw. I can remember the 4-2 beating at home in the early 90's and meeting Jimmy Greaves at the Baseball Ground.

Is this the game Nicky Hammond played in goal and tackled a Derby palyer with his chest by diving at his feet ? I remember us getting bullied off the park at the CG into the early 90s when they had some ginger bastard whos name I can't be arsed to lookup

I also remember the end of 91/92 when we played them last game of the season and we had very slim chance of getting into the play-offs and they had a chance of going up so they cut our ticket allocation to 200. Managed to get a ticket tho (Thanks for camping out all night Gaz) Perhaps we should do that to them ?? Give them the disabled enclosure ?
