Title: Match report from the Priestfield end
Post by: bigal1946 on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, 10:56:45
Our GillsConnect fan on the terrace gives his take on last nights entertaining game at the County Ground

http://tinyurl.com/6cb9prl

BTW Gills fans have given the thumbs up on the Bar 21 after enjoying a few pre-match tipples

Bar 21

Give it 10 years and it may very well be.

Agree mostly with your match report. Didn't think Kuffour looked that dangerous though.

May have been a one off, or we may have just coped well with him, but he wasn't the livewire he normally is - losing a bit of pace maybe.

Anyone else see the trouble after the game:

One of their horses escaped and was eating the grass on a lawn down the Shrivenham Road.

Terrible - My young lad was in tears and never wants to go to a football match again.

Pikey's.

kuffour did one amazing touch though, controlling a punt from the keeper. other than that, not a lot. Nouble surprised me, looked handy.

Rooney was very good.

wouldn't be surprised if we both finished top 3-ish.

Nouble was completely different to when he was here, he looked half decent last night and actually looked like a footballer. I thought Rooney was very good, unbelievably quick feet for this level and was unlucky with his shot that hit the post, he was the player that really stood out for them i think.

Although improved I personally thought Nouble flattered to deceive.

agree about that being a good touch but the next time the ball went to him he let it go under his feet for a throw in. Nouble spent most of the time offside or on his arse. I wouldn't want either in my side. I'd take Rooney though and the keeper.

What about Charlie Lee and Chris Whelpdale (if you noticed them at all)? My Posh supporting mate is surprised they are playing in League 2.

I thought Lee played weel, disrupted our midfield and gave ferry and smith a hard time. Midfield was about even over 90  mins.

I would say that Nouble looked dangerous when he dropped out wide for the ball and started to do his tricks and run at players and cross the ball in but in front of goal he still looked like a fish out of water

Took my wife and young lad for the second time this season and they had a whale of a time. My lad was tired towards the end and was getting crabby though. Had to pay ten squid for him and he's only seven. Looks like they've caught the bug and are coming again on Saturday to watch a flounder ing Bradford.

Difficult to do that in a minute which for some reason is all they've chosen to show. Showed one of their chances and one of ours plus our 2 goals. Fuck em!
