It may well be a bit of a mare on the train as there isn't a station open in Oldham while they extend the metrolink. You'd have to get a bus or cab from central manchester. Maybe 30 mins on a bus, 15-20 in a cab.

Don't have kids Jan 8th so now thinking about Oldham but trains means going to Manchester then 30 mins on friggin Metro, anyone esle going ?

There is no met to Oldham yet, no trains either as they're building the metrolink at the moment. Bus from manchester is your only hope I'm afraid!
