They have emailed saying on sale from 08/08 - however as I am IT illiterate I would not know how to put a picture on here! Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, July 11, 2014, 08:45:08 I like it a lot.
I think I'll be getting both shirts this season. Good work STFC. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: kerry red on Friday, July 11, 2014, 08:45:24 Classy.
My only gripe is that the club badge looks out of pace n that shirt - and way too big Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Leggett on Friday, July 11, 2014, 09:43:33 That looks a rough potatoshop, hopefully won't be as big in real life.
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, July 11, 2014, 09:55:41 In other kit news, Excaliber is on the back of the Home shirt.
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: kerry red on Friday, July 11, 2014, 10:47:20 What position does he play?
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: pauld on Friday, July 11, 2014, 11:18:16 Oooh, it is *very* German isn't it? (Or perhaps slightly more prosaically, a bit Derby-ish). Still, if it means we can stick 7 past teams that play in yellow, I'm all for it
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: reeves4england on Friday, July 11, 2014, 11:32:18 Ha! Club have now announced that the white shirt will have Cotswold Farm Machinery as the sponsor on the back.
I can't read, and I can't write... Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: jutty274 on Friday, July 11, 2014, 11:45:36 I wonder what colour our 3rd shirt will be as we both kits would clash with Sheff. utd & maybe even shitty ( who i see are no longer using Adidas for their kit suppliers )
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:16:16 Ha! Club have now announced that the white shirt will have Cotswold Farm Machinery as the sponsor on the back. Ooh Arrrr Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:28:53 I wonder what colour our 3rd shirt will be as we both kits would clash with Sheff. utd & maybe even shitty ( who i see are no longer using Adidas for their kit suppliers ) My guess is black. Are we definitely getting a 3rd shirt? At £45 a pop and if its decent that a lot of WONGAAAAAAAAAAA Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: reeves4england on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:38:20 My guess is black. As mentioned, the red and white kits will clash with Sheff Utd, so there's bound to be a third shirt. Are we definitely getting a 3rd shirt? Can Sheff Utd not just wear their away shirt (which I presume has neither red nor white in it?) Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: 4D on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:48:10 Can Sheff Utd not just wear their away shirt (which I presume has neither red nor white in it?) At Brammall Lane? :sherlock: Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: herthab on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:48:29 Can Sheff Utd not just wear their away shirt (which I presume has neither red nor white in it?) What, when they're at home? Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:50:33 So teams have never worn their away shirts at home? I'm pretty sure in this day and age it happens.
But fair points. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: 4D on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:52:37 I remember the game (possibly Barnsley at home) when they brought their home kit by mistake. Wore one of our away kits - town v town :)
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: kerry red on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:53:35 Did we win?
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: 4D on Friday, July 11, 2014, 12:59:14 Draw :(
Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: pauld on Friday, July 11, 2014, 13:27:50 As mentioned, the red and white kits will clash with Sheff Utd, so there's bound to be a third shirt. We've worn red against teams playing in red/white stripes in recent years (can't think of an example but remember seeing it at home and thinking "Oooh, shouldn't they have changed into their away kit?"), don't think it's that big a problem.Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Power to people on Friday, July 11, 2014, 13:46:12 Nice shirt but as others have said £45 is a lot of money to shell out - not sure if I can convince the Mrs to let me spend £45 when I've already spent on a ST
It's a shame that shirts are so expensive now, surely it can't cost the club anywhere near that to get them in Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: pauld on Friday, July 11, 2014, 13:49:22 Nice shirt but as others have said £45 is a lot of money to shell out - not sure if I can convince the Mrs to let me spend £45 when I've already spent on a ST As per the discussion every year for the past 4-5 years, I think adidas set the price (or at least dictate it has to be that high) rather than the club. It's a shame that shirts are so expensive now, surely it can't cost the club anywhere near that to get them in And, also as I say every year, I'm less concerned about the cost of the adult kit (although I suspect it does restrict sales), than the kids' kit which is horrendous - £35 for a shirt, easily around £45+ if the kid wants their name on there which most do, £22.50 for shorts (yes that's right - £22.50 for a pair of kids' shorts!), and £10 for socks. That's the best part of £80 for a full kit. And then people wonder why we see more and more kids wandering around town in generic premiership team shirts instead of supporting their local side. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: @mwooly63 on Friday, July 11, 2014, 13:50:30 shitty ( who i see are no longer using Adidas for their kit suppliers ) Isn't there new kit supplier part of their owners empire ? Am sure the rugby lot using the same supplier Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, July 11, 2014, 14:20:02 As per the discussion every year for the past 4-5 years, I think adidas set the price (or at least dictate it has to be that high) rather than the club. Are the full premiership kits cheaper then? Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, July 11, 2014, 14:24:21 The away shirt has CFM on the back with the actual sponsor in quite small writing.
They could have put the sponsor's much more prominently on the back so quite happy they haven't. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: pauld on Friday, July 11, 2014, 14:28:49 Are the full premiership kits cheaper then? At this stage of the season, when they're all newly relased, not by much (although a little). But they're much more likely to get discounted by the big retailers as the season goes on and often do, esp in run-up to Christmas. Plus the knock-off merchants will bother to do knock-off replica Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea etc whereas they won't be doing Swindon Town.Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: jayohaitchenn on Friday, July 11, 2014, 14:32:53 The Swindon kits are usually heavily discounted towards the end of each season.
Title: Re: Re: Re: Away Shirt Post by: herthab on Friday, July 11, 2014, 14:41:13 The Swindon kits are usually heavily discounted towards the end of each season. I've bought last season's kit for my other half's kids for the last 2 years. Dunno how well that will go down when they're older mind....Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: pauld on Friday, July 11, 2014, 14:59:09 The Swindon kits are usually heavily discounted towards the end of each season. Yes when people don't want them, hence why they're discounted. Go back to the point I was making - every year, people moan about the number of kids wearing Premiership shirts around town and to Swindon games. Then look at the fact that it's easier (because they're more widely available) and cheaper (because they're more likely to be discounted at a time people still want them in any numbers) to buy Premiership shirts/kit than Swindon kit. Then consider that lower league clubs like Swindon have the uphill battle anyway against the saturation media glamourisation of the top teams, shouldn't we be making it easier/cheaper for local kids to buy Swindon kit than to buy Chelsea kit rather than the other way round?Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: pauld on Friday, July 11, 2014, 15:00:13 I've bought last season's kit for my other half's kids for the last 2 years. Dunno how well that will go down when they're older mind.... Yeah, I always get last season's shorts - I can (just about) justify the shirt as a birthday present, but I'm not spending over 20 quid on a pair of generic template shorts with a badge on.Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: suttonred on Friday, July 11, 2014, 16:49:49 Nice shirt but as others have said £45 is a lot of money to shell out - not sure if I can convince the Mrs to let me spend £45 when I've already spent on a ST It's a shame that shirts are so expensive now, surely it can't cost the club anywhere near that to get them in I don't think they are dear, my last one is 3 years old now and has had some serious wear and abuse, and still in good nick, whereas shirts and t shirts at the same cost bought at the same (ish) time, have long ago seen the bottom of the dustbin. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: @mwooly63 on Friday, July 11, 2014, 17:40:27 My guess is black. Are we definitely getting a 3rd shirt? At £45 a pop and if its decent that a lot of WONGAAAAAAAAAAA Your guess may be correct Quote there will be a third shirt for Sheffield and Doncaster out in Nov From the bint in the club shop Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: leftside on Friday, July 11, 2014, 19:31:47 I wonder what colour our 3rd shirt will be as we both kits would clash with Sheff. utd & maybe even shitty ( who i see are no longer using Adidas for their kit suppliers ) Silage green/brown. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: Bumpkin on Monday, July 14, 2014, 09:50:32 I don't have a gripe about the cost of the shirts, but I think it's unneccesary to constantly change the shorts every year, considering they're not much different.
I like the fact we had the same style socks for 4 seasons now, we could quite easily have had the same shorts (apart from going from red back to white) I try and get my kids a kit every year, last year they wanted goalie kits which were mega pricey. Title: Re: Away Shirt Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, 14:31:58 I see they have officially unveiled the new "away" shirts with the sponsors today. As a matter of interest is this the actual shirt we will play in when away from home or is this only used in the event of a colour clash?
