1.don rogers 2.glenn hoddle 3.sam parkin 4.paul rideout 5.steve white 6.shaun taylor 7.fraser digby 8.harold flemming 9.jan-aage-fjiortoft 10.michael carrick Out of that straight away i'd agree with no 1,2,8 and 9. prob 6 and 7 as well although i'd have to think about it. But definately Calderwood should be in there; Loan players should never count.

Eric Cantona and Alan Shearer seem to be missing from the list, yet Wiltord and Jari Litmanen are in the top 60? :| Load of shit

This list is the most possibly the most effective example I've ever seen of the argument that you can prove anything you like with statistics.
Because it's based on team performances, and doesn't seem to differentiate between the relative strengths of different domestic leagues, it means that the whole socring system is slanted in the favour of:
* Outstanding players who choose to stay playing for the most dominant club in a minor nations league set up - Hence Pele who never played club football outside Brazil (except for that tin pot football circus in the US) scores incredibly well. * Unspectacular but reliable Steady Eddie types that play for really successful clubs also do really well - See Gary Neville.
Which means that a player like Maradona, who's international success was in a team of otherwise fairly ordinary players, and who managed club success at a team like Napoli. Who was absolutely fundamental to both those sides being anything but average, is outpointed by the likes of Romario.
