Hell - strong cheese. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: 4D on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 13:56:34 Everything listed so far is heaven to me ;D
Celery (ooh ahh) is about the only thing I dislike on it's own, but it's great in a waldorf salad. Pad Thai - heaven Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: horlock07 on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 13:57:13 Hell - strong cheese. I'd get off the forum now if I was you...... ;) Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Batch on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 14:04:42 Heaven - BBQ "mixed grill", pulled pork, chicken, ribs, brisket..
Hell - Fish. The fishier it smells the more I want to puke. Worst has to be fish pie or kippers first thing in the morning. (excluded cod/haddock from the chip shop, fresh salmon and cream cheese sarnies, anchovy in Caesar salad dressing - they're all fine.). Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Bob's Orange on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 14:11:32 Heaven - Indian food, Steak.

hell: sprouts Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 14:53:13 Pad Thai - heaven I had a Pad Thai today, it was good. It's not as popular out here as some make it out to be, but there's usually a place doing it not too far away. Anyway, as I'm trying to lose the beer gut, I thought I'd have a look. Apparently, your average serving of Pad Thai packs a whopping 900 calories, and is not great nutritionally. I think I'll need to have them sparingly from now on. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 14:53:44 Oh, and tomatoes are evil.
Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: BambooToTheFuture on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 15:07:05 Heaven, too many to list as many say but Giouvetsi has to be one of the nicest "one pot" dishes I've tasted. I'm also a lover of seafood, whilst in Madeira I had Esprada Preeta (Black Scabbard, sounds lovely huh?) which has all the hallmark or fleshy, hearty cod but has a richness akin to mackerel, minus the smokiness. A "Scabbard sandwich" with trimmings cost around €2 and an excellent lunchtime dish. So clean and fresh with beautiful flavours. So simple, but then the best dishes are. Buggar, I could eat one right now!
Hell...well I know i'm in the minority but what I call Automatic Beans (Tinned Baked Beans). Homemade Baked Beans (or manual beans) all the way though. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 16:07:31 Heaven. Any decent independent restaurant/bistro etc
Hell. Something like MacDonalds or other chain Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 16:13:56 Some chains are better than others. MacDonalds, however, is fucking rank.
Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Chubbs on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 16:40:46 Some chains are better than others. MacDonalds, however, is fucking rank. I'm partial to a Maccy D's. They aren't as bad as people make out. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: pauld on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 21:45:17 Some chains are better than others. MacDonalds, however, is fucking rank. Surely McDonalds doesn't count anyway, as this thread is about food.Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Batch on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 21:50:57 I can understand your objections Paul, it's the Burger Kingites that somehow think they are superior that gets me.

We are, though. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: michael on Thursday, January 18, 2018, 21:23:46 Burger King burgers and chips are better. The bar is low, mind. Service really lets them down though. It is on you to request a napkin along with a sachet of ketchup. Something to clear the grease away with should be a pre-requisite.
Food heaven is a crispy Yorkshire pudding capable of on-boarding a decent amount of gravy, with no sign of sagging. Food hell is supermarket pizzas. I don't care how much you have paid, nor where you have paid it, they are shite. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Batch on Thursday, January 18, 2018, 23:14:11 give me an Asda make it while you wait over a shitty Domino's any day of the week

Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: Bob's Orange on Friday, January 19, 2018, 09:52:42 give me an Asda make it while you wait over a shitty Domino's any day of the week I tend to agree. Domino's pizzas are so bad. I really don't get the hype over them. Title: Re: Food Heaven / Food Hell Post by: pauld on Friday, January 19, 2018, 10:06:39 I tend to agree. Domino's pizzas are so bad. I really don't get the hype over them. I'd put them in the same category as McDonalds and BK - should be sued for describing their product as "food" |
