Up uintil quite recently, I'd still listen to this every couple of years....
It seemed to sum up a certain trait of Englishness... that went with Brexit.
This is the best one. I went to the 98 world cup. Rolled into St Omer and the England coach was there. Wanged this up on the cd, and the England players were thumbs up. All went downhill from there though, as I got shitfaced and ended up watching the game in a french bar, When I got back to the campsite a squirrel or some other such mammal had eaten half the tent. Handy for flicking fag ash out though.

I liked this Beeb effort from 1994....
Apart from Holland v Brazil about the only memorable thing from a terrible WC.
No, no, no, no! The most memorable thing was Saudi Arabia goal vs Belgium
I was behind the goal watching the drama unfold.

I get nostalgic when watching the BBC opening for France '98.
"Shouldn't you be at work?"

I quite liked this effort....
Not a true classic, but OK, the vid is fun for playing England fan cliche bingo. A bit like the team of the day, OKish and generally inoffensive.

When on Youtube (phone/PC/Lappo) click on the "curled over" arrow (may even say SHARE next to it), below where the video is playing. It'll pop up with the site icons of AssBook, Titter, Goggle Eyes+, Boober, Raggit, etc. Below them will be a text link of that song with COPY next to it. Click that. Come back here, right click your mouse/touchpad or press and hold for about a second and then select paste from the box. Not sure if you need to do it on here but if you type [ url] <<insert link>> [/ url] without the spaces in the brackets. Whack the link between it and you should end up with the embedded youtube post on here. Like this;

I always think of this when the World Cup comes around (1978):
And this for World Cup songs:
