Salford’s first game of the season live on Sky...shock Perhaps they'll use it to highlight the role of the Salford Yeomanry in the Peterloo Massacre of August 1819.... or perhaps not. Henry Hunt.... known as The Orator, was of course a Moonraker, being a son of Upavon.

Tricky enough August if you break down the fixtures.
Scunny away - we always seem to struggle there and Paul Hurst is a good manager at this level. Carlisle home - You would like to think we would fancy our chances of getting off to a flier at home to the Cumbrians who I fancy to struggle this season. Exeter away - strong side, I think they will be one of the sides battling for the play-offs along with us. Northampton home - The cobblers look to have recruited well and I fancy them for play-offs. Tuesday night under the lights though is a good chance to put a stamp down early if we want to get promoted this season. Cheltenham away - Written off already, no explanation required Morecambe home - 'should' be 3 easy points. But we learned from the last 2 seasons when we lost to some terrible sides that we have to put these teams away.
I personally can see us getting 8 points from those games.

When you look at that, then it's pressure on straight away.... given our woeful recent record at Scunny, the next 4 we failed to beat in any game last season. Not beyond the realms of possibility we could be in trouble by the time of the Morecambe game.

Fucking hell Reg, put the tissues away, I can hear you smacking your lips from here. Can we have a sweepstake on Reg's first use of the words "relegation battle" this season? I'm going for sometime in pre-season, sandwiched in between reminiscences of how the simple life of the medieval yeomanry of Melksham was swept away by heartless Thatcher's mechanised stormtroopers

Yep, it's nasty. At least Wellens looks to be preparing well for it, so a possibility we might get something around 8 points which would be fine. To be avoided is a Bob Smith 80/81 5 game Royaume Uni, nil point.... lose job, job
