Is there any point in drinking a single pint?
If you’re thirsty a squash is better.
If you can’t have 3 or 4 - or up to 10 if you’re Wobbly Bob - why bother drinking one.

To be fair, buying a player for £100k and selling on for £2m just 12 months later is fantastic business. Although some of their fans think they should have held out for more...which surprises me.

Some delusions there, one fan reckoned he was worth £5m!

As you say, we won't see all of it but he has paid for a few big (£300kish) signings before Whyte's sale. Much more of a concern is our threadbare squad, which is an 11 and cover in a couple of positions. We need another 3/4 players and he'll probably sign some, mostly loans. His running of the club is a shambles though.

Is there is widely-held view that he's skimming 'profit' and failing to reinvest?

Nobody knows where the money actually comes from. I don’t think he, personally, has got a pot to piss in.
His record at Reading doesn’t bode well. Can’t think of any reason he won’t fuck Oxford over as he did Reading.
