Title: Tef awards
Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 20:04:29
Tell me if i'm talking bollocks, or this has already been discussed? To my mind bar 93/94(which we knew wouldn't follow on due to money problems) This is easily our best season since widespread use of the internet, along with the feel good factor from everyone, and as we are the unofficial voices of STFC, how about our own awards to players/ staff etc? Doesn't even have to be the standard type although best TEF player and Loanee would be good (the thread on Ward strated me thinking) As did the ticket office blokes who are unsung but have always done a cracking job for me. Get the club involved (if they want to sanction it) if they do, do the presentations at a sponsored game or something? Just brainstorming and like i said i'll shut up if it's been done already.

I like the old "out of the box" thinking, even if i hate the phrase well done bob. top of the class, i think that describes the aesthetics of the trophy(s)

The chap with the Scottish accent was chatting to me about how shite Leeds were last night when getting my ticket for Elland Road.  Even the bloke in the ticket office cares.

Oh yeah, awards would be cool.

I think the supporters club, disabled supports and the trust (maybe?) give out a player of the season award - so I dont see why we cant add a TEF one.

Best Loan Signing would be a good one, as its not one thats usually done and as far as I know, even if they have played enough games they arent usually allowed to be voted for, for Player of the Season.

Plenty of candidates this season, for sure.

I suppose we could do a Loud and Proud one as well, something along the lines of 'Most Hits On Stanley's Facebook'.

i agree.hence why i said what i did earlier.
your idea is a good un,and i'd like us to do the bog standard 'tef player of the year'(and i dont mean jayo shaggin old grannies either)
'goal of the season' etc, etc.boring?maybe, but it would still be an award for players and staff, and would put the forum out there to the massses.you never know, we could gain some more decent posters to add to those that have recently joined.

Do you not find that a cringeworthy? There's already awards voted for by fans. What makes us so special? This next award was voted for by a bunch of tosspots on a sweary forum....

If you want to be noticed then try jumping 10 double decker buses on a milk float or something.

In fairness, although it'd be cool, it does make us look even more up our own arses. I know we're easily the most important and knowledgeable town fans, but do we need to publise something that everyone already knows is fact?

Nothing wrong with that Pauld.....does our egos good now and again...i think any Town player winning the TEF player of the year would be well chuffed..just the one award would suffice though.

The USP that this forum has is that it is funny. It doesn't take itself, the club, the game, or anything else too seriously.

If it soponsored an award it should be as fucking silly as possible.
